Basil Hoffman is an American character actor. He has had a film and TV career spanning five decades, often in classic films.

He is best known for his work with distinguished film directors, including Peter Bogdanovich, Mario Monicelli, Richard Benjamin, Carl Reiner (twice), Peter Medak (five times) and Alan J. Pakula (twice); Academy Award winners Michel Hazanavicius, Steven Spielberg, Delbert Mann, Blake Edwards, Stanley Donen, Sydney Pollack, Ron Howard and Robert Redford (twice as director); and many others. His films include: “All the President’s Men”, “Close Encounters of the Third Kind”, “My Favorite Year”, and Academy Award winning Best Pictures “The Artist” and” Ordinary People.”

A long-time private acting teacher and coach, he has also been a frequent guest lecturer and teacher at prestigious professional and academic institutions, including (among many others) the American Film Institute, the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, the University of Southern California, Confederation College in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada, and the Academie Libanaise des Beaux-Arts in Beirut, Lebanon.

He is also the author of the acting textbooks, “Cold Reading And How to Be Good At It”, and “Acting and How To Be Good At It” (and The Second Edition) with a foreword by Sydney Pollack.

Jack starts off the show talking about this unique film called, 5-25-77, by film director Patrick Reed Johnson who wrote, produced and directed it. This long awaited film is funny film about Pat’s life and the night STAR WARS open across America. Pat is promoting his film with a cross country tour called HEART OF DORKNESS.

Calling into the show is Western Filmmaker RICK GROAT talks about his WESTERN that he is working to finish the funding. So I will have an interesting show about what it takes to be an indie filmmaker. The show is about two independent filmmakers struggling to lock down the funding to make and market their films.

Kels Goodman studied film at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah and graduated in 1992, but started working professionally in 1989. His early career was diverse, from Production Assistant to Art Department to Grip and lighting to camera assisting. In between slaving on Hollywood films, such as Dumb and Dumber and Touched by an Angel (basically, anything that came to Utah), he would occasionally get to produce his own commercials, music videos, training videos and promotional videos. In 2000, he was part of the movement in Utah known as Mormon Cinema, and from that he was able to produce several film from the genre, including “Handcart”, a drama about the Mormon handcart pioneers move west. “Handcart” was self-released to 50 theaters across 8 states.

In 2005, Goodman started work for the blender company, Blendtec, producing all of their promotional materials. It was there he created one of the most successful viral campaigns of all time, “Will It Blend”. Goodman is in pre-production on a new film entitled “Lemonade Stand”, in the similar universe as “The Last Eagle Scout”, a young girl attempts to raise money for her dying brother who has a disease that her parents insurance won’t cover. So she decides to open a lemonade stand, but it is shut down by the government because of her lack of permits. Goodman currently resided in Orem, Utah with his wife and 5 children.

Steve Latshaw, writer, director, filmmaker talks about his latest film THE RETURN OF THE KILLER SHREWS Steve talks about his career as an indie filmmaker with over 35 films to his credit. Steve really enjoyed making the sequel to this 1958 classic the Killer Shrews. Both films star James Best playing the same character in 50 years later.

Steve cast a new young actor, Sean Flynn the grandson of Errol Flynn in his first adult role. The film has been well received and this was the first film that Steve directed in Los Angeles area. Steve presents two new songs by Dean Torrance of the Jan & Dan late 50s early 60s doo whop group that created the original surfing sound. Dean himself sings on these songs along with this two daughters. Both songs are presented on this show.

His time in the Caribbean has included key top management positions with major marine facilities in Honduras, St. Maarten, British and USA Virgin Islands, Jamaica, and Cuba. He is considered an authority on marine facilities in the Marina Hemingway Cuba is presently the general manager of the Errol Flynn Marina and Boatyard in Port Antonio, Jamaica.

His further management responsibilities include all Port Authority of Jamaica properties in Port Antonio. Dale comes from Chicago where he once worked as a photo journalist and served as a crime reporter-photographer for a Chicago Daily and also held key editorial positions with several suburban Chicago publications, in addition to heading up his own political public relations firm.
